Granny's Bay Challenge

Back for its 4th year, this event has become a regular on the calendar for most runners. Come and join us in the beautiful seaside town of Lytham for a great day of running.

Registration: from 08:30am

Race start: 09:30am

Location: Fylde Spitfire Memorial, Inner Promenade, Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire, FY8 1EQ

Course: 5.24 mile out & back / loop

(Complete as many or as few laps as you wish within the 6 hour time limit).

Note: you don't have to run for the full 6 hours, it is a limit not a target.

Course information: The course is on a flat tarmac path along the Ribble estuary.

Starting at the Fylde Spitfire Memorial, runners will join the new coast path before passing Fairhaven lake. The path will lead you past Granny's Bay and onto Lytham green. Here you will have views of Lytham windmill to the left and to the right, views across the estuary, towards Southport and North Wales. At the end of Lytham green, runners will reach the turn round point, to return to the Spitfire Memorial.

For those who want to complete a marathon distance, then you will have to complete 5 laps. For the 1/2 marathon you will complete 2 full laps and a short 2.62 mile loop.

As long as you complete one lap then you will be a finisher and recieve an official time and a medal.

Age Limits: All participants to be over 18

Age 18 - 19  - Max distance Marathon 

Over 20's - No max distance

The event will be held under UK Athletics rules.
